Get a fully validated HMI running in days, not months
What risk does this eliminate
Integrating an embedded display involves electronics, mechanics, SOM interface, touch, power, EMI and software integration. Iterations cost time and increase risk.
| Aspect | Without Starter Kit | With Starter Kit |
|---|---|---|
| Validation time | 6–12 months spent validating hardware instead of building your product | Architecture already proven in real embedded systems |
| Integration | Unexpected integration issues can delay your launch and consume critical engineering resources | Display operational immediately, engineers can focus on innovation |
| Reliability | Uncertainty about whether your display solution will work reliably in your final device | Move forward with confidence, without hidden integration risks or unexpected delays |
Reduce HMI hardware validation time by up to 80%, from months to days.

FAQ
Questions that might slow down your decision to adopt this solution.
Are you an official Toradex partner?
Opto Logic is an official Toradex Proven Partner, a status granted after a technical audit and validated projects. This guarantees access to roadmaps, BSPs, and direct Toradex support.
Are you a new company or do you have a track record?
Opto Logic has been designing industrial HMI solutions for years, with a team of hardware, firmware and OS (Yocto/Torizon) engineers.
What happens if Opto Logic disappears? Am I locked in?
The BSP is open source on GitHub, overlays are public, and the hardware is documented. You can maintain or hand over the project to any Toradex integrator.
Which Toradex modules are supported?
The full Verdin family (iMX95, iMX8M Plus, iMX8M Mini, AM62, AM62P) and Colibri (iMX8X). See the compatibility matrix above.
Is the solution really tested and validated?
Validation follows a defined framework: automated CI/CD tests, LVDS signal compliance, EMI pre-compliance, touch endurance, and thermal validation. Test report available.
Does touch work with gloves, rain or gel?
PCAP with adjustable firmware (gloves mode, water rejection). Tests under condition available; adjustment possible in custom version.
What is the actual brightness? Does it work in sunlight?
400 / 650 / 1020 cd/m² depending on model. Sunlight readability available as an option (optical bonding + anti-reflective treatment) on custom version.
What is the expected lifespan (MTBF, LED retention)?
LED backlight 50 000 h typical at nominal brightness. System MTBF available in the datasheet.
OS compatibility: Linux only?
Yocto and Torizon supported out of the box. Other OS (Android, RTOS) possible in custom projects.
Are there ready-to-use device-tree overlays?
Yes, all published on GitHub, by module and by screen size. Plug and play.
What is the operating temperature range?
Standard commercial range 0–60 °C, industrial range −20 to +70 °C on custom. Thermal validations available.
Can I go to production from the starter kit?
Yes, via a design freeze phase or a customized version for your enclosure, your BOM, and your series constraints. No major redesign required.
What elements are customizable?
Size, shape, facade, glass, logo, touch (PCAP), brightness, connectors, mechanical integration and environmental options (IK, IP).
What is the minimum order quantity for a series version?
MOQ is flexible. No MOQ for standard versions in stock.
What are typical lead times?
Standard kits are in stock and available immediately. Custom versions: 8–12 weeks depending on complexity.
What about longevity?
Toradex Verdin modules are guaranteed 10+ years by Toradex. Screens are sourced from references with a long roadmap.
How do you manage obsolescence?
Active EOL monitoring, documented transition plans. Toradex notifies EOL with 5+ years advance notice.
Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) — are you ready?
Our CRA Ready badge indicates that the kits integrate CRA requirements (SBOM, secure boot, signed OTA, vulnerability disclosure).
Secure OTA updates?
Torizon + Toradex Cloud provide signed OTA, rollback and monitoring. Yocto via Mender/RAUC also supported.
Secure boot / TPM / encryption?
Supported on Verdin iMX8M Plus, iMX95 and Colibri iMX8X (HAB, OPTEE, secure storage).
IEC 62443 / medical 60601 compatibility?
Compatible architecture; accompaniment available for final product compliance.
Is support included?
Technical support is included with the kit. Production support is available via a dedicated contract.
Do you work internationally?
Delivery across Europe and internationally. Support available in French, English and German.
What are the payment terms?
30 days net for established companies; custom terms available depending on volume.
Can I test the kit before committing?
Evaluation loan possible under conditions, or on-site demo by appointment.
Why not develop in-house?
The hidden cost of 6–12 months × engineer, plus integration risks and obsolescence management. Our kit absorbs that cost with a product already proven in the field.
