Wide viewing angle 7” WVGA

After the 4.3” WQVGA TFT with the new MVA technology, Data Image launches the new 7’’ WVGA with the same characteristics than his little fellow. The multi-domain vertical alignment (MVA) technology offers normally black with very high contrast ratio and extremely wide symmetric viewing angles. Therefore this technology offers a significant optical advantage comparing to standard TFT, based on twisted nematic (TN) liquid crystal materials. With its wide symmetric viewing angles of 80° (left-right-top-bottom), this display can be built-in in landscape and portrait direction.

The Interface and mechanical dimensions are fully compatible with the standard TFT Displays in this size. That means the backlight driver is already implemented, as well as the timing controller. Only a 3.3V supply voltage is needed and the brightness is adjusted via a 20kHz PWM signal.

With a 7’’ analogue capacitive touch panel, the optical performances of the display are preserved and allow designing dynamic applications. Comparing to the conventional resistive touch panels, the capacitive technology offers a protection against external mechanical impact, due to its glass (or synthetic) surface. If a bigger robustness is required, a tempered glass panel can be added on the top, by optical gluing process.
